Membership Information & Application Form

WHY JOIN KLA? Membership is now $50 annually. Membership forms are sent to all lake residents in March, or you may download the form here (see below). Your membership dues enable the Association to maintain the quality of the lake and make living on Klinger Lake a joyful experience. The Klinger Lake Association is now a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization, so membership dues are tax deductible.

Your Klinger Lake Association provides the following benefits:
  • Provides each member with a directory listing all residents as well as other useful information.
  • Assigns Beach Representatives to each beach to report back to the board any of your concerns.
  • Maintains the level of the lake by adjusting the dam in accordance with the County Circuit Court.
  • Provides a representative to work with the County Drain Commissioner to maintain the dam.
  • Maintains and secures additional historical records concerning the lake.
  • Sends a representative to the annual meeting of the State and District 3 meetings of the Michigan Lakes & Streams Association to keep you informed of state wide issues that are affecting riparians.
  • Keeps in contact with the County Road Commission to keep members apprised of the condition of roads and what improvements are planned.
  • Pays for a patrol boat on the night of the fireworks.
  • Provides a volunteer for the Co-operative Lakes Monitoring Program to maintain our water quality.
  • Arranges yearly to have the lake inspected for invasive plants and arranges treatment of the plants such as Eurasian Water Milfoil.

As you can see the Klinger Lake Association is involved in many activities to help maintain the quality of the lake now and in the future. Please do your part by joining us with your membership!

Instead of writing a check and mailing it in, you can now pay online using your credit card. Visit our Online Dues Payments page for the details. This is the preferred way to join or pay your dues.

Otherwise, you can download the print format Membership Form - available in PDF (Portable Document Format - requires free Adobe Reader), print it, and send it to:

Sturgis Area Community Foundation, 310 North Franks Avenue, Sturgis, MI 49091. Checks should be payable to SACF - Klinger Lake Area Conservancy Fund. Please include your include LAKE ADDRESS and designation (i.e. Membership, Fireworks) on the memo line of your check.
