About the Klinger Lake Association

A 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization

P.O. Box 176, White Pigeon, MI 49099
The Klinger Lake Association is a voluntary organization made up of residents and friends of Klinger Lake. Percival C. Wilson is credited with having originated the idea of forming the organization in 1946. The two major accomplishments of the association have been the spearheading of the movement that resulted in the current court-ordered lake level and the creation in cooperation with the White Pigeon Village of a sanitary sewer system. In 1993 the Association became incorporated, and since then its official name has been the Klinger Lake Association, Inc. (Excerpts from KLINGER LAKE … Its Origins and Growth by Robert E. Hair)

Effective January 1, 2022, the Klinger Lake Association is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization.  In accordance with this change in structure, we have established 'The Klinger Lake Area Conservancy Fund', managed by the Sturgis Area Community Foundation. All donations to the Klinger Lake Association are tax deductible including annual memberships.

The Mission of the Klinger Lake Association is to preserve, protect and improve Klinger Lake and surrounding property, and to keep all members informed of activities and conditions affecting the welfare of the area. In particular, but not exclusively, the corporation shall be directly concerned with the following:
  1. to represent the interests, welfare, rights, and privileges of the majority of the lake property owners at Klinger Lake,
  2. to monitor lake water conditions and general environment,
  3. to control lake levels,
  4. to monitor the lake and surrounding areas,
  5. to consider safety codes and regulations on or adjacent to Klinger Lake,
  6. to monitor marine wildlife habitat, and
  7. to maintain a directory of lake property owners.
